Course One: Start with a shared tasting plate of bacalau, salted cod and potato with citrus aioli, whitebait fritters with celeriac remoulade, arancini with chicken, spiced chorizo, and crisp baguette with whipped ricotta and truffled honey
Course Two: Feast on a mouth-watering slider each - choose between the crispy chicken with lettuce, tomato and spiced aioli or slow roasted lamb with rocket and pepper relish
Course Three: Next be tempted by chilli-fennel dusted calamari served with citrus aioli or garlic king prawns with tomato, basil, chilli and ciabatta
Course Four: Split a light salad, picked from warm cauliflower with watercress and pomegranate molasses or radicchio salad with olives, cherry tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella and warm polenta croutons
Course Five: Select a main to share from the following: beef short rib with mustard seed sauce; Sumac crusted salmon fillet with crisp fennel; potato gnocchi with sage brown butter and porcini mushrooms; and spaghetti aglio olio with barbecued chicken
Course Six: Finish with a shared dessert tasting plate, sample vanilla bean crème brulee with honeycomb and almond biscotti and dark chocolate nemesis cake with light mascarpone

Deviate to this hidden treasure. I wanted to take the wife out for a special dinner and after friends recommended this place I thought we'd give it a go. How have I never heard of Deviate before? I would compare it to any upmarket restaurant in Surry Hills or the CBD. Food was amazing, staff were attentive and the decor was very chic. I had the lamb backstrap which had a nice moroccan spice to it, the wife's stand out were the scallops with crispy pork belly, delicious! Will be back,"Zomato (Formerly Urbanspoon)
